Rules changes – a major reform to making applications when on immigration bail, changes for children coming to settle in the UK and for partners of refugees, and for fee waivers and s3C permission, biometrics and varying immigration applications. There’s a new system for asylum interviews, more Suitability refusal grounds, an escape route for exploited Skilled Workers, a new route for adult children escaping domestic abuse, and the return of the Erasmus programme.

Policy developments – changes to treatment of EU settlement scheme grants made in error and nationality reconsideration time limits, a new citizenship application priority service, plus new reports from the Independent Inspector into overstayers and asylum interviews.

Business immigration – developments on the extended right to work check regime coming in October 2026, a new CoA decision on accessing the Graduate route and a new Design Industry pathway within Global Talent.

Case law – on ILR and discretionary leave, detention and adults at risk and re stops at the border, fairness in considering nationality applications and sponsor licence revocation, assessing criminal records and danger to the community, entry clearance and visitors, English language test fraud, holding applications for pending prosecutions, a series of important deportation decisions and some interesting JRs about age assessments.

What the participants say

Emile Kouame – Gurkha Solicitors

It was very useful taking the demo presentation. Shareen was very knowledgeable about the contents and the areas of the immigration. I feel very privileged to listen to her about the great contents Mastering Immigration Law offers. I have been practicing immigration for ages but refreshing to know how my work can improve with the subscription.

Bethany Webb-Strong – Seraphus Solicitors

Shareen was very engaging and explained the HJT training services clearly and concisely. The demo was very useful in introducing the training modules and showed me how to navigate the website and make the most of all the resources available. It could be useful to explain about how at the end of each module there are videos which recap and explain the parts of each module – I actually intend to listen to these first to give some background to the chapter and then begin a more thorough study of each module.

Asylum Aid

I would like to thank you and Julian Build for preparing me very well for the immigration supervising caseworker exam, which I have passed with 88%. I couldn’t have done it without your support.
