What is Covered?

We are concentrating on judicial review proceedings brought in the Upper Tribunal, as these proceedings are most relevant to most immigration practitioners, whose clients are often confronted with a decision that does not attract a right of appeal. We will cover the fundamentals and the key procedures, including:

– How to write a Pre Action Protocol letter

– Drafting professional looking grounds

– Managing a JR from lodging to drafting Orders

– Tactical hints and tips when using the Procedure Rules

– Common JR challenges: challenging administrative review refusals, English language and bad character accusations, clearly unfounded certificates, and addressing urgent removals

– Maximising your chances of recovering costs
