The Home Office has released comprehensive collection of data pertaining to legal, and illegal migration this week. This is also accompanied with a collection of Rules which are now archived and replaced with the most current Immigration Rules for their respective categories.
Launch of the new Scale-up route by the Government has attracted significant interest this week. Scale-up visa allows thriving businesses to have the opportunity to employ the top talents from international workforce. Rules, Caseworker Guidance, and eligible occupation Guidance relating to this route have been released this week.
The Government stands firm to remove illegal migrants and zero tolerance policy towards foreign offenders from the country. This is evident from the Government’s pledge to fast track the removal of Albanians who are illegally entering the country.

The Queen (on the application of Shajmin Akter Parul) v Secretary of the State for the Home Department [2022] EWHC 2143 (Admin)
The Claimant, who suffered with from multiple chronic medical conditions. applied for a judicial review of the failure of the SSHD, to provide her with suitable accommodation in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets (“Tower Hamlets”), pursuant to section 4, Immigration and Asylum Act 1999. In the determination handed down by the High Court, it was found that the SSHD indeed was under the duty to provide a suitable accommodation- SSHD’s failure to provide any evidence to justify the delay further added to the breach of section 4 Immigration and Asylum Act 1999. The Queen (on the application of A) v Secretary of the State for the Home Department [2022] EWHC 2174 (Admin)
A renewed application for interim relief was put forward. The purpose of this was to compel the defendant to provide the claimant with accommodation, pursuant to the power the defendant has by reason of Schedule 10 to the Immigration Act 2016. Interim relief was refused on the papers on 8 June 2022. Interim Order granted by Mr Justice Lane and SSHD directed to provide accommodation under Schedule 10 Immigration Act 2016. The Queen (on the application of AAA and others) v Secretary of the State for the Home Department and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees [2022] EWHC 2191 (Admin)
The application put forward in the context of a number of claims by individuals for permission to bring claims for judicial review to challenge decisions to the effect that their claims for asylum would not be processed in the United Kingdom but they would or might be removed to Rwanda and their asylum claims dealt with there. They also seek permission to challenge the lawfulness of the arrangements under which claimants for asylum can be removed to Rwanda. The claimants also include one trade union and three non-governmental organisations. Out of the 10 items put forward in the claim, the High Court refused public interest immunity for 6 and granted 4.
