Course aims and objectives
This is a course that will equip you to understand the operation of the Immigration (EEA) Regulations 2016. These have replaced their similarly named predecessors from 2006.
This is not intended to be a course on European Union free movement law more generally: that is a detailed area. This course aims to give a basic understanding of how the 2016 Regs operate in practice. Nevertheless, occasionally we make observations upon differences between the 2006 Regs and the 2016 Regs, and we draw attention to some of the stand-out aspects of the 2016 Regs which may be inconsistent with fundamentals of EU law.
